INTER GARDEN, Fla. -- A Winter Garden resident escaped injury as her single-story wood frame home caught fire early Monday morning.
The state fire marshal determined the fire started because a candle was placed too close to a mattress. The disabled woman was asleep on the couch and not near the mattress.
Firefighters were called by neighbors who noticed the flames at about 3:30 a.m.. The house, located at 202 North St., had flames and heavy smoke coming from the front portion of the structure when fire crews arrived

wade said it had not been determined what caused the single air mattress to deflate the victim of suffocation.
Police said the child was sleeping, along with a one-year-old, on an air mattress that deflated in the night.
The child's parents were in the one-bedroom apartment where it happened
