Sealy mattress co.

While Jordan said every family Mustard Seed helps has a story, some affect Mustard Seed's employees more than others.

'The ones that really get me are the ones who come in with their little kids,' Jordan said.

One boy in particular stands out in Jordan's memories. He was about 5 years old, and she first saw him as he sat in the waiting area with his family.

'He sat there just like a little angel,' Jordan said.

Then the family was led to the storage room, where the boy, who had been sleeping on a crib mattress on the floor, saw his new bed.

Jordan said the boy's face lit up, and he said, 'I'm getting me a new bed.'

The group, which aims to help people rebuild their lives after personal disasters like fires or financial troubles, was fashioned off a Florida organization by the same name.

Jordan said Mustard Seed opened in March 2002 and serves Allen, Adams, Wells, Huntington, Whitley, Noble and DeKalb counties.

'What's unique about Mustard Seed is we help Fort Wayne,' Jordan said. 'We help our neighbors.'

This holiday season, like other organizations, Mustard Seed is in need of community support to collect the items they use to help the needy.

The organization wants furniture that is free of rips, stains and pet hair, including bed frames, mattress sets, dressers, couches, chairs, lamps, coffee tables, end tables, kitchen or dining room tables and chairs
